44 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 6pm - 6am

About the role

Prepping and polishing of Motor vehicles

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction in the repair of motor vehicles of all types.
  • Carry out such work in a safe and economical manner.
  • Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
  • Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
  • Indent for replacement parts and record usage.
  • Accurately use paint mixing schemes and drying areas/equipment.
  • Ensure that vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on job card.
  • Attain manufacturers' and/or estimated repair/paint times.
  • Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles.
  • Take care of equipment, special tools and personal tools.
  • Accurately report all components, materials and consumables used.
  • Safeguard the customers' vehicle and contents whilst being repaired.
  • Ensure that all work carried out meets acceptable safety and quality standards.
  • Company repair/paint times to be achieved.
  • Hours, components, materials and consumables used recorded.
  • Wastage of materials not to exceed target set by Manager for period.
  • No customer vehicle or contents to be damaged/lost while vehicles under repair.
  • Assigned apprentice to have completed training schedule for day/week.
  • No customer vehicle or contents to be damaged/lost while vehicles under repair.

Skills and experience

  • ATA / NVQ level 3 Paint Technician.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Good Decision Making/Problem solving skills.
  • Good H&S knowledge/awareness and compliance.
  • Time served repair technician.
  • Good time management skills
  • Relevant industry experience
