JOB FUNCTION:
To lead Chelsea FC Foundation's delivery across existing and new Mental Health Programmes. Specifically delivering programmes to support suicide prevention within the community and Chelsea FC fanbase, inclusive of match day activations. The role will also work closely with partner agencies and local NHS Trust to develop and deliver programmes to support local MH needs whilst working with the wider foundation team to signpost and identify signposting opportunities for participants, including but not limited to, health and wellbeing, life skills and education and employability.

LOCATION:
London Stamford Bridge and surrounding areas.

CONTRACT:
Permanent, 35 hours any 5 of 7 (weekend/ match day work when applicable)

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

  • To work with the Health and Wellbeing team to develop and deliver new and existing Mental Health programmes, in line with the Chelsea Foundation strategy and requirements set out by the funding providers.
  • Deliver a range of mental wellbeing support for young people and adults, providing support at suitable times for the service user either in person or virtually.
  • Lead and deliver programmes in accordance the Foundations suicide prevention strategy, inclusive of match day activations and ongoing wellbeing sessions for Chelsea FC fans.
  • Work with NHS partners and clinicians to identify local needs and develop appropriate support for those with MH needs within the local community.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants through a variety of methodologies.
  • Work Collaboratively with Health and Wellbeing officers to develop pathways in line with the Foundations strategy and Exercise for Life.
  • Support participants to access pathways via internal and external programmes in line with their needs and interests.
  • Develop and promote support for parents/guardians/carers/family members so that they feel more confident in supporting their child/young person/family member with their mental health and wellbeing
  • Prepare delivery resources and session plans that support the project outcomes. Ensuring participation forms, recording sheets and registers are completed accurately and entered in CFCF's monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Align their activities to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) outcomes.
  • Ensure all CFCF health & safety and safeguarding procedures are implemented prior to any activity starting, including quality assuring delivery staff.

  • To lead on the monitoring and evaluation for all Mental Health projects in accordance with the needs of each funder, including ensuring all data is captured on Salesforce.
  • Be responsible for the safeguarding of participants across all Mental Health programmes, liaising and reporting into the Safeguarding Lead for Health and Wellbeing and associated partner Safeguarding Team's to ensure a clear line of reporting to CFC Safeguarding Hub.
  • Ensure success stories are captured through working with Chelsea FC Foundation/Chelsea FC media staff.
  • Complete and submit project reports at 6-month intervals, or as and when required internally or in accordance with the needs of each funder.

PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification):

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional and/or academic qualifications or proven experience in the industry sector; Psychology/Health Promotion/Public Health/Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications.
  • Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
  • Level 1 or 2 Sports Coaching Qualification.
  • FA Safeguarding qualification or equivalent.
  • FA Emergency First Aid Certificate or equivalent.

Experience:

Essential

  • A strong knowledge of and experience in working in a Charity, and Health and Social Care industry.
  • Have a good understanding of NHS, Health and Social Care services and charities across London, be able to signpost participants accordingly, and build partnerships.
  • Experience of implementing safeguarding and health and safety procedures within a sport and youth work setting.
  • Experience in delivering 1:1 and group programmes to improve mental wellbeing for hard-to-reach members of the community.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing workshops and activity on mental health and wellbeing.
  • Previous experience in working within a healthcare/community setting.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Chelsea FC Foundation.
  • Knowledge of local demographic and social needs.
  • Experience of coordinating delivery staff & volunteers.
  • Knowledge of Community Club Organisations and Football Charity Programmes.
