ABOUT THE ROLE:

Whilst working as part of an integrated team, the Technical Operator (Packing Operations) is responsible for providing day to day running and maintaining machinery, as well as fault finding. They are to ensure company standards are met at all times.

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Collecting and disposing of all waste materials in the correct manner.
  • Within Quickchips, packing cartons of finished product into cases, according to product specification.
  • Operating the flow wrap, collator, machine minding and running the tipper.
  • Completing metal detector checks in a timely manner.
  • Operating, fault finding and maintenance on the multiheads.
  • Inspecting filled cartons for foreign bodies and raise any non-compliance to the Area Shift Manager.
  • Carrying out carton check weighing according to company procedure, completing any relevant documentation where necessary.
  • Operating the carton erector and loading flat packed cartons onto the magazine feed, ensuring manual handling and health and safety practices are followed at all times.
  • Reporting any faults or malfunctions to the Area Shift Manager.
  • Conducting appropriate daily and weekly cleaning is carried out and ensures that hygiene, Health and Safety and Food Safety standards are met.
  • Responsible for settings and maintenance on change overs, ensuring the process runs smoothly with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of operating machinery in a food manufacturing environment, who is self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK?

You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
