We are seeking a meticulous, proactive & personable individual to join our vibrant team as a Solution Researcher; a varied and dynamic role pivotal to strengthening our sales operations and deepening our customer relationships.

KaarbonTech is a predominantly remote-working data and software company, specialising in managing highway assets for local authorities across the UK. Our innovative smart technology, meshed with efficient and collaborative working practices, enables us to significantly enhance our customers’ operational efficacy.

As a leading provider of highway asset management software, advice and services, we work with over 40% of local authorities in England. Our expertise in automating geo-location, inspection schedules, and defect tracking empowers our customers to plan maintenance schedules more effectively and manage costs with confidence.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, rapidly-evolving team and play a fundamental role in identifying new opportunities, nurturing early customer engagement and supporting our wider sales process.

The role encompasses:

· Conducting thorough digital and telephone research to identify pain points within the Local Government sector and to help inform how our applications can support them.

· Collecting and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of software systems, contract terms and organisational structures within potential and existing clients.

· Turning research findings into practical recommendations and actions.

· Initiating early contact with potential customers, introducing KaarbonTech, arranging and chairing discovery meetings and supporting follow up communications as part of the sales team.

· Supporting the creation of tailored sales materials using insights from desktop research and customer interactions.

· Facilitating seamless communication between the sales team and the local authorities.

· Ability to explore new technologies and how they can be applied to improve public services.

· Validating and maintaining company CRM and other business knowledge hubs.

Skills Required:

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – confident engaging with customers by phone, email and other channels.

· A natural curiosity with a honed problem-solving mindset, with the ability to translate data into insight and meaningful action.

· Strong time-management skills, comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritising work effectively.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· An emotional intelligence and professionalism for building rapport with customers and colleagues.

· Adeptness in self-learning.

· A keen interest in technology and a drive for innovation.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Desirable Skills:

· Proven experience in a similar research, customer engagement or insight-led role.

· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

· Experience of working in or for public sector, ideally local government.

· Prior newsroom or investigative research experience is highly desirable.

This role is home-based with the expectation of self-management in prioritising tasks and time. Regular feedback, a strong desire for continuous learning, and occasional visits to our Head Office in Bournemouth (around 6 times per year) are integral to this role.
