Bunkhouse operates and has designed, developed, and revitalized a celebrated<br><br>portfolio of hospitality projects throughout the U.S., which include Hotel San José, Hotel Saint<br><br>Cecilia, Austin Motel, Jo’s Coffee, Equipment Room, The Carpenter Hotel and Carpenters Hall<br><br>in Austin; Hotel Havana and Ocho in San Antonio; Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco, California;<br><br>and Hotel San Cristóbal and Benno in Todos Santos, Mexico, and Hotel Genevieve in Louisville,<br><br>Kentucky with plans for expansion and future projects throughout the U.S. and Mexico.<br><br><strong>We're looking for:<br><br></strong>Summer on Music Lane is looking for a Seasonal Bartender who will mix and serve drinks to<br><br>patrons (directly or through wait staff), wait on Bar patrons and serve items from the bar menu,<br><br>create bar menu items, and all food preparation associated with Bar service.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School diploma or general education degree (GED)</li><li>Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry</li><li>Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace</li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence</li><li>Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff</li><li>Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale)</li><li>Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and<br><br></li></ul>division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals<br><br><strong>Job Requirements:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons</li><li>Mix ingredients to prepare and garnish cocktails and other beverages according to Bunkhouse standards</li><li>Serve snacks or food items to customers as requested or submit order to Kitchen</li><li>Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment</li><li>Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays</li><li>Help plan and organize the menu and operations of the Cocktail Lounge or Bar</li><li>Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and<br><br></li></ul>inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure<br><br>when necessary<br><br><ul><li>Collect money for all orders taken</li><li>Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol</li><li>Balance cash receipts</li><li>Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons</li><li>Order or requisition liquors and supplies</li><li>Ask customers who become loud and unruly to leave</li><li>Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area<br><br></li></ul>Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may<br><br>be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.<br><br>This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed.<br><br>Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.<br><br><strong>Working Conditions/Environment:<br><br></strong><ul><li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a<br><br></li></ul>hotel/restaurant/office setting<br><br><ul><li>The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis;<br><br></li></ul>anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift<br><br><ul><li>The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move<br><br></li></ul>about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for<br><br>up to eight (8) hours per day<br><br><strong>Benefits:<br><br></strong>Bunkhouse offers a liberal working environment that encourages individuality and creativity.
