About The Role:

This is a Part Time FTC role.

Role Purpose: The Web Designer role supports the overall aesthetic of the website, including creating brand assets for use across the website and digital marketing channels. The role acts as a creative champion of the Fortnum’s Brand online.

Reports to: Web Designer

Key interfaces: The role holder will interact with multiple parties across the company including Online, Marketing, Hospitality, Retail and Technology; as well as external brand agencies.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and adapt campaign assets for use across the website and digital marketing channels, including the homepage, category landing pages, navigation, and editorial/journal pages.
  • Deliver creative design solutions that meet project briefs while maintaining brand consistency through effective use of imagery, layout, iconography, typography, and colour.
  • Develop promotional assets to support key trade and marketing events.
  • Implement design assets within the Adobe Commerce/Magento platform
  • Assist the Web Designer in maintaining non-commercial website content, such as events, stores/restaurants, and delivery information pages.
  • Manage incoming design requests as the initial point of contact, providing prompt responses or coordinating with the Web Designer for further support.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to build strong relationships and respond positively to feedback.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritise requests and meet business needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Digitally savvy, with a proactive approach to adopting new tools and technologies.
  • Ability to challenge constructively, build credibility with diverse audiences, and maintain integrity and confidentiality at all times.

Design and Technical Expertise:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating website design capabilities.
  • Advanced graphic design skills, including expertise in layout, typography, iconography, and colour.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design and designing for multiple devices.
  • Good knowledge of usability principles and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
  • Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills (essential).
  • Experience using Figma (desired).
  • Experience in Adobe Commerce/Magento (essential).
  • Creative and flexible approach, with a focus on innovation and identifying new market opportunities.
