Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Hove Primary School

At Engage Education, we’ve specialised in recruiting higher-level teaching assistants (HLTA’s) for over a decade, so we know a bit about finding the ideal school for you. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic HLTA to work at a fantastic primary school in Hove to start in September/October 2025.

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality teaching assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.

About the role:

Our HLTA duties can include:

  • Working with small groups of pupils

  • Covering pre-planned lessons when the class teacher is unavailable

  • Providing intervention support

  • 1:1 support for SEND and lower ability pupils

  • Assisting with general classroom duties including display boards and preparing worksheets

The ideal applicant will have:

  • At least 6 months experience of working with children or in a school

  • Level 4 HLTA Qualification or, Undergraduate degree in Education

  • A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils

  • Bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils
