Head Waiter - Mark’s Club


We are looking for an enthusiastic Head Waiter to join the team at Mark’s Club private members’ club, part of The Birley Clubs.

Mark’s Club is a private members’ dining club, based in a serene Mayfair townhouse, serving the finest, award-winning cuisine alongside an outstanding selection of cocktails, wines and cigars. The Club hosts a series of exclusive events throughout the year, including live music on the terrace and an exciting chef series where we welcome internationally acclaimed guest Chefs. We have reopened Mark’s Club this September after a full refurbishment.


As Head Waiter you will be responsible for liaising with the managers, floor team and senior chefs within the restaurant to ensure the highest levels of service are provided to our Members and their guests across our two PDRs. As Head Waiter you will supervise the junior members of the floor team to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards expected within a timely manner.

We are ideally looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous experience in a similar role within a private members’ club or high-quality restaurant/fine dining restaurant
  • Have an excellent understanding of all areas within a restaurant
  • Are excellent team players with a positive, flexible and enthusiastic attitude
  • Develop good relationships with members and knowledge of their tastes and preferences
  • Have experience of Fourth and EPOS systems desirable
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Are passionate about food and keen to develop their knowledge on the menu, wine and cocktail lists
  • Have a WSET qualification desirable but not essential
