Experienced Head Chef – Global Buffet Cuisine, Hull

We are looking for an experience Head Chef to lead a large kitchen brigade for an independent brand of authentic world kitchen buffets in Hull, Yorkshire. Designed to bring together a global array of flavours under one roof, inspired by the food offerings of five-star hotels, with live cooking stations where chefs prepare dishes in front of customers. This adds an element of food theatre and freshness. With an extensive menu of over 150 dishes this role requires a Head Chef with a proven track record with high volume mixed cuisine from the Mediterranean to Caribbean and Asia.

Busy, high-volume restaurants serving over 1000 covers each weekend day, requiring a dedicated Head Chef to keep service running smoothly and efficiently to maintain this establishments successful reputation. With over 150 dishes from around the world, buffet style there is something for everyone and the best part there is something for everyone all of which are made with fresh, authentic ingredients.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a Head Chef who’s has the following skills and experience:

  • Must have experience and demonstrate expertise in Mediterranean (particularly Greek, Spanish, and Portuguese), Caribbean, and Chinese cuisines.
  • Worked in high volume, fast-paced experience.
  • Experience in creating and costing dishes.
  • Quality control and consistency is a must.
  • Train, lead and guide your team.
  • A keen interest in multi-cuisine buffet-style service.
  • Strong knowledge o food hygiene and safety regulations, particularly in buffet style dining.
  • Strong communication.
  • Organised and passionate for all things hospitality.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced restaurant and have an eye for detail.
  • Reliable and hard working is essential.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Live local to Hull or have reliable means of transport.
