Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
The Director, Leadership Communications, is a new role being added to support SCA Health Executives and Senior Leaders with speaking engagements, presentations and thought leadership content. As part of the Marketing, Communications, Creative and Events Team, you will report to the Senior Director of Communications and will partner closely with teammates across our support services lanes to develop compelling narratives and stories and help our leaders deliver them through multiple internal and external channels to a broad set of audiences and stakeholders.

  • Lead agenda and mainstage presentation development for annual (in-person) All Leadership Meeting, Clinical Leadership Connection and Leadership Summit events, coaching executives and leaders on delivery and storytelling.
  • Lead planning and delivery for quarterly (virtual) All-Teammate and Enterprise Services Leadership Team Meetings, increasing participation and improving effectiveness and engagement before, during and after meetings.
  • Support leaders in preparation for external mainstage and panel presentations, including development of remarks, talking points, slide content and responses to anticipated questions.
  • Identify and help construct thought leadership platforms for select members of our executive team, including development of pipelines for speaking opportunities, position papers/Op-Eds, blog posts, social media content, etc.
  • Partner with teammates to develop and deliver effective spokesperson training for leaders across the enterprise.
  • Serve as back-up to communications team members on internal and external activities beyond core responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects and initiatives across marketing, communications, creative and events lanes and step in where needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related business discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience in corporate communications with a minimum of 5 years in the health care industry
  • 6 years of experience supporting C-Suite executives and demonstrated ability to adapt approach to a variety of working styles
  • Proven ability to coach and counsel senior leaders on best practices for a wide range of communication activities
  • Ability to travel (25%) to support with internal and external speaking engagements and presentations
  • Strong track record of developing high-impact and memorable presentations using a variety of digital tools and platforms
  • Deep experience with PowerPoint design and animation and collaboration with creative teams
  • Exceptional storytelling abilities and experience transforming complex topics into compelling, audience-driven narratives and message frameworks
  • Prior experience sourcing external speakers for keynote presentations, either independently or in partnership with an agency.
  • Strong executive presence and superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage large-scale initiatives, drive collaboration across departments and meet tight deadlines with high-quality results
  • Expertise in developing useful measures and metrics to set goals and targets and report results
  • Partner confidently with senior stakeholders and demonstrates poise in high-visibility environments
  • Must be a self-directed individual who is able to anticipate senior leader and teammate needs and plan effectively
  • Experience mentoring and coaching other communications professionals required
  • Experience helping leaders manage organizational and cultural shifts and evolutions and demonstrated effective partnerships with change management professionals evolutions
  • Integration and change management experience preferred
