Position Summary:

DAWSON is currently seeking applicants to fill our dental assistant positions located throughout the state of California in support of dental readiness services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout California. All work is a part-time "as needed” basis. DAWSON provides health readiness services to meet the dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG.

Hourly Pay Range: $25.00 to $30.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event set up, take down, and maintenance of workstation equipment
  • Assist dental team during examinations/screenings and ensure accurate charting on military forms
  • Assist dental team during treatment services
  • Ability to take diagnostic quality digital x-rays to include bitewings, periapical x-rays, and panograph x-rays
  • Work collaboratively with event team
  • Scan through documentation to identify soldiers’ required needs
  • Safeguard all soldiers’ information
  • Ensure all actions comply with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
  • Complete trainings and education/certifications as required
  • Follow applicable contractual requirements stipulated by the Client and DAWSON

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPR/BLS Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Required to be licensed in California as a Registered Dental Assistant and board-approved in radiography
  • Have a valid US driver’s license
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience interacting with challenging clientele
  • Utilization of universal precautions for patient care
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in a dental setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
  • Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
  • Must submit no less than two professional references with a resume
  • Must be solutions oriented
  • Experience working in a military setting and working knowledge of the regulations and policies that apply to Dental Readiness Classification (DRC) is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and bend
  • Continually required to sit
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk and hear
